Spatial and temporal variation of fish assemblage structure in a neotropical Mexican river

چکیده
The introduction of non-native fish into the Teuchitlán River, in west-central Mexico, was suggested as a key factor behind change assemblage, and even extinction endemic species. characterization assemblage relationship between abundance anthropogenic conditions were evaluatedover 2-year period. Fish structure, species replacement, dominance examined along longitudinal environmental gradient. Physical chemical parameters water recorded. abiotic factors inferred from multivariate analysis. results showed that poecilid Pseudoxiphophorus bimaculatus dominant, biomass exceeded 50%in all sites seasons. Species diversity native greater upstream sites, which presented higher dissolved oxygen lower nitrates. ichthyofauna River has been replaced by This decline seems to be due not only interaction with but also multiple human impacts on lotic system.

Phylogenetic community structure: temporal variation in fish assemblage
Hypotheses about phylogenetic relationships among species allow inferences about the mechanisms that affect species coexistence. Nevertheless, most studies assume that phylogenetic patterns identified are stable over time. We used data on monthly samples of fish from a single lake over 10 years to show that the structure in phylogenetic assemblages varies over time and conclusions depend heavil...
متن کاملSpatial and Temporal Variation in Fish Assemblage Structure in Village Creek, Hardin County, Texas
-Fish assemblages were sampled seasonally at Village Creek, a blackwater tributary of the Neches River in Hardin County, Texas. Forty-four fish species were captured from aquatic mesohabitats that included backwater pools, deep channel pools, sloping sandbanks, sandy riffles, and shallow channel margins. Associations between fish assemblage structure and mesohabitats were strong, yet also affec...
متن کاملspatial and temporal variation in stable isotopes signatures of periphyton and an endangered fish in a flow-reduced river reach
the environmental and ecological issues in the flow-reduced river reach are very serious and arereceiving increasingly attention. in this study, we investigate the temporal and spatial changes in δ13c and δ15n of periphyton and isotopic relationship between periphyton and the endangered fish (ayu, plecoglossusaltivelis) in a flow-reduced river reach in japan. much of the spatial and temporal va...
متن کاملFish assemblage in a semi-arid Neotropical reservoir: composition, structure and patterns of diversity and abundance.
The aim of this study was to analyse the composition, structure and spatial and temporal patterns of diversity and abundance of the ichthyofauna of the Santa Cruz Reservoir in semi-arid Brazil. Data were collected quarterly at eight sampling locations on the reservoir between February 2010 and November 2011 using gillnets from 12- to 70-mm mesh that were left in the water for 12h00min during th...
متن کاملSpatial and Temporal Variation in Copepod Community in the Helleh River Estuary – South Coast of Iran, Persian Gulf
Copepods are the main zooplankton assemblages in most tropical and semi-tropical estuaries. In this research, copepod population dynamics were investigated in Helleh River estuary, Persian Gulf during four seasons beginning from summer 2011 to spring 2012. Samples were taken using plankton net with mesh size of 140 µm and vertical towing from 5 fixed-stations in mid-season. Results showed that...
